Mixed Doubles Format
International table tennis matches are played as the best of an odd number of games, commonly best of five or best of seven. Each game is won by the first player or pair to reach 11 points, provided there is a lead of at least two points. At 10-all, play continues until one side leads by two points. In doubles, a serve must travel diagonally from the server’s right half of the court to the receiver’s right half. In mixed doubles, partners take turns hitting the ball during a rally. The serving and receiving order is set for each game under the sport’s rules.
