Trump Signs Order to Rename Lake Ontario

On 27 August 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order in the Oval Office directing the federal government to rename Lake Ontario as “Lake America”. The order instructed the United States Department of the Interior to update the Geographic Names Information System within 30 days and required federal agencies to use the new name on maps and documents.

The event also included a Bio-CNG filling station and the launch of India’s first rural cooperative-model “Gramin Bharat Taxi” service with nine vehicles.
