Shree Charani, an Indian left-arm spinner, reached 50 T20I wickets in her 29th international match on 10 September 2026. She became the fastest Indian bowler across men’s and women’s cricket to reach the mark, surpassing Kuldeep Yadav’s previous Indian record of 30 matches.
T20I Bowling Milestone
Charani took her 50th wicket by dismissing Bangladesh opener Juairiya Ferdous, who was caught by wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh in the sixth over. She finished the match with figures of 1 for 14 in 4 overs, including one maiden over, in India’s 40-run win over Bangladesh in the Women’s Asia Cup semifinal in Dubai.

With this milestone, Charani became the joint second-fastest bowler in women’s T20I history. She matched Leigh Kasperek of New Zealand and Anisa Mohammed of the West Indies, while China’s Mengting Liu remains the fastest with 50 wickets in 28 matches.

At 22 years and 37 days, Charani became the second-youngest Indian to reach 50 women’s T20I wickets. Radha Yadav remains the youngest Indian to do so, with the age figure recorded at 20 years and 334 days.
