The AI INSPIRED Programme
Context: The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) selected six private space tech entities for seed-fund grants of up to ₹1 crore each under its AI INSPIRED initiative.

About The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe):
What it is?
- The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) is an autonomous, single-window nodal agency functioning under the Department of Space (DoS), Government of India, headquartered in Bopal, Ahmedabad. It acts as both regulator and promoter for Non-Government Entities (NGEs) engaging in space activities.
Aim: To promote private sector and startup participation in India’s space economy by facilitating innovation, infrastructure access and regulatory compliance.
Key Functions of IN-SPACe:
- Single-Window Authorization: Approves private satellite missions, rocket launches, launch pads, ground stations and re-entry operations, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Access to ISRO Infrastructure: Facilitates private access to ISRO’s launch facilities, testing centres and laboratories, reducing infrastructure costs and duplication.
- Technology Transfer: Enables commercialisation of ISRO-developed space technologies by transferring proven innovations to domestic industries for large-scale production.
- Startup Funding and Incubation: Supports emerging space startups through seed funding, incubation, technical guidance and proof-of-concept testing, fostering innovation.
- Regulatory Oversight: Implements guidelines for private space activities, including satellite operations, space debris mitigation, spectrum coordination and compliance with international obligations.
