What stands out: the Maths section is built almost entirely of multi-step word problems and graph-reading, not direct formula questions, and EVS leans heavily on polity and geography. Both are worth extra practice for the Upper Primary paper and future Special TET rounds.

Why the UP Special TET 2026 is being held
In Anjuman Ishaat-e-Taleem Trust, the Supreme Court held that in-service teachers must pass TET to continue in service. On 29 May 2026, in State of U.P. v. Anjuman Ishaat-e-Taleem Trust, a bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Manmohan dismissed the review petition and extended the deadline to 31 August 2028. It also directed states to hold TET regularly, preferably twice a year.
The UP Special TET gives in-service primary and upper primary teachers in Uttar Pradesh who have not yet passed TET or CTET a dedicated chance to qualify before that deadline. Teachers who have already passed TET or CTET do not need to take it.
What this exam paper does not tell you
It is not an answer key. The pen ticks are one candidate's attempt, and several are wrong.
It covers one shift and one level only: Primary, Shift 1. Question papers for other shifts or the Upper Primary level may differ.
It does not include an Urdu Language II section. Only the English and Sanskrit options are in this booklet copy.
