Exercise Tiger Triumph 2026
Context: The opening ceremony of the 5th edition of the India–US bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise, Tiger Triumph 2026, was held at the Maritime Warfare Centre (MWC) in Visakhapatnam.

About Exercise Tiger Triumph 2026:
What it is?
- The premier bilateral, tri-service amphibious military and HADR exercise conducted between the Armed Forces of India and the United States. It is the only bilateral tri-service exercise India conducts with the US (and only the second such tri-service format India conducts with any global partner, after Exercise INDRA with Russia).
Host: Hosted by India at the Maritime Warfare Centre (MWC), Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Participating Nations: India and the United States of America.
Aim: To strengthen India–US joint planning, operational coordination and interoperability for effective all-domain disaster response and humanitarian assistance across the Indo-Pacific.
Key Features of the 2026 Edition:
- Tabletop War-Gaming & Staff Planning: Emphasises Tabletop Exercises (TTX) involving strategic planning, crisis management and multi-agency coordination rather than large-scale field deployments.
- Maiden Participation of NDRF: Marks the first participation of India’s National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), strengthening civil-military coordination in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
- Tri-Service & Special Forces Integration: Brings together India’s Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Forces with US military branches to strengthen joint operational coordination.
- Multi-Domain Coordination: Integrates Cyber, Space, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Combat Medicine specialists to strengthen command systems and coordinated disaster response capabilities.
Significance:
- Enhances India–US interoperability and disaster response readiness, strengthening their capacity to conduct coordinated humanitarian operations across the Indo-Pacific.
- Deepens the India–US Major Defense Partnership by translating defence agreements into practical joint planning, operational coordination and all-domain cooperation.
