Network Anubhav Platform
Context: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) launched the Network Anubhav Platform, a centralized geospatial and analytical dashboard designed to map user test metrics, Independent Drive Test data, and Do Not Disturb (DND) web services.

About Network Anubhav Platform:
What it is?
- An interactive, GIS-enabled digital analytics and grievance interface that aggregates crowdsourced quality-of-service (QoS) data—primarily sourced from TRAI’s MySpeed and MyCall applications—alongside TRAI’s official Independent Drive Tests (IDT) to visualize telecom and broadband performance across India.
Organisation: Developed and administered by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the statutory sector regulator under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India.
Aim: To empower consumers with location-specific internet speed and voice quality data, help telecom operators improve network performance and strengthen TRAI’s Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring.
Key Features of the Platform:
- Interactive Geospatial Network Mapping: Displays mobile and fixed broadband performance on interactive maps, allowing users to filter results by operator, location, download/upload speeds and 4G/5G technologies.
- Percentile-Based Speed Reporting: Provides realistic internet speed estimates using P50 (median), P80 (mobile broadband) and P90 (fixed broadband), offering more representative performance insights than advertised peak speeds.
- Web-Based DND 3.0 Integration: Enables users to manage commercial communication preferences, report spam calls/messages and track complaints, while displaying operator-wise unsolicited commercial communication (UCC) trends.
- Secure Dashboard for Telecom Operators: Provides authenticated access to call-drop data, network coverage gaps, latency and user feedback, enabling targeted infrastructure upgrades and network optimisation.
- MySpeed Software Development Kit (SDK): Allows authorised third-party applications to integrate internet speed testing tools, expanding crowdsourced network measurements and improving geographical data coverage.
Significance:
- Provides location-specific, real-world network performance data, helping consumers compare telecom operators, make informed choices and demand better service quality.
- Enables TRAI to identify connectivity gaps, assess 5G performance and monitor QoS compliance, supporting evidence-based regulation and improved spam control.
