BPSC TRE 4.0 OTR Registration - The Complete Guide No One Else Wrote
OTR (One Time Registration) is the single most misunderstood part of BPSC TRE 4.0. Our research found that at least 6 major competitor websites have incorrect or incomplete information about OTR. Here is everything, verified from official sources and BPSC's own guidance videos.
⛔ 5 OTR Rules That Will Get Your Application Cancelled
One OTR per person only. Multiple OTR registrations = all applications cancelled. Your Aadhaar links to one OTR permanently.
OTR locks permanently after submit. Name, DOB, Father's Name, Aadhaar cannot be changed after locking. Verify everything before submitting.
DigiLocker is mandatory - not optional. Link your Aadhaar-verified DigiLocker with your academic certificates before starting OTR.
Name must match exactly - OTR, DigiLocker, 10th certificate, all must have identical spelling. Even one character mismatch causes rejection at DV.
OTR fee (₹100) is separate from application fee (₹750/₹200). You pay OTR fee first, then application fee later. Two separate transactions.
What is OTR and Why Did BPSC Introduce It?
OTR is a permanent BPSC profile that stores your verified personal and academic data once. Once created, you use the same OTR credentials for all future BPSC exams - you never re-enter the same documents again. BPSC introduced OTR in 2026 to eliminate:
Fake/fraudulent applications with unverified credentials
Duplicate entries by the same candidate
Document manipulation between application and DV stage
The paper leak infrastructure that compromised TRE 3.0
DigiLocker Setup - Do This Before OTR
📱 DigiLocker Pre-Setup Checklist (Complete Before Starting OTR)
□ Aadhaar linked to your active mobile number (OTP comes here)
□ DigiLocker account created at digilocker.gov.in
□ 10th Marksheet & Certificate pulled into DigiLocker
□ 12th Marksheet pulled into DigiLocker
□ Graduation Degree / Certificate pulled into DigiLocker
□ B.Ed / D.El.Ed Certificate pulled into DigiLocker
□ All names match exactly - DigiLocker vs physical documents
Once this is done, OTR takes 15 minutes. Without it, you cannot complete OTR.
OTR Registration - Step-by-Step (Correct URL: onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in)
Go to the correct URL: onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in Click "One Time Registration (OTR)" or "New User Registration." Do NOT use bpsc.bih.nic.in or bpsc.bihar.gov.in for application - the application portal is onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in.
Enter Basic Personal Details Full Name (exactly as on 10th certificate), Father's Name, Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY), Gender, active Mobile Number, valid Email ID.
Verify via OTPOTP will come to your Aadhaar-linked mobile. Verify mobile and email both. Create username and secure password for future logins.
Fetch Documents from DigiLocker Click "Fetch from DigiLocker" - your 10th, 12th, Graduation, B.Ed certificates will auto-populate. Verify all details match your physical documents exactly.
Upload Photo and Signature Passport photo (white background, JPG, max 50KB). Signature (black ink, white paper, JPG, max 20KB). Both must be clearly readable.
Pay OTR Fee - ₹100 (All Categories)This ₹100 is for OTR only. This is NOT the application form fee (₹750/₹200). Pay via UPI, Debit Card, Net Banking, or IMPS.
Final Review & Lock OTR⚠️ Read everything once more. After you click Submit/Lock - Name, DOB, Aadhaar cannot be changed. This is permanent. Lock only when you are 100% confident everything is correct.
✅ After OTR - What Happens Next
OTR complete होने पर: OTR ID और Password मिलेगा। इसे save करें। जब application form active होगा, इन credentials से login करके form भरेंगे। OTR एक permanent profile है - BPSC के future exams में भी same OTR use होगा।
Apply Online - Application Form Guide (After OTR)
Application Fee - Two Separate Payments Explained
Payment | Amount | Who Pays | When |
|---|---|---|---|
OTR Registration Fee | ₹100 | All categories (same fee) | During OTR (Step 6 above) |
Application Form Fee (General) | ₹750 | General / OBC (all states) | During application form submission |
Application Form Fee (Reserved) | ₹200 | SC/ST/PwD/Female Bihar domicile | During application form submission |
Biometric Fee (if applicable) | ₹200 extra | Those who did NOT use Aadhaar during OTR | Additional charge added to fee |
Documents to Upload in Application Form
Passport-size photograph (as per format - same as uploaded in OTR)
Signature (as per format)
10th Marksheet / Certificate (DOB proof)
12th Marksheet / Certificate
Graduation Degree / Provisional Certificate
Post-Graduation Degree (PGT candidates)
B.Ed / D.El.Ed Certificate
TET/STET Certificate (most important - number, date, score)
Bihar Domicile Certificate (for reservation and fee concession)
Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS if applicable)
PwD Certificate (if applicable)
🚫 8 Mistakes That Get Applications Rejected
❌ Not completing OTR before trying to fill application form
❌ Name spelling different from 10th certificate
❌ Category wrong (affects fee, reservation, cut off calculation)
❌ Choosing wrong post or wrong subject (cannot be changed after submit)
❌ TET certificate details entered incorrectly
❌ Blurry, incomplete, or wrong-format documents
❌ Waiting until last day to apply (server will be overloaded - BPSC will not extend deadline)
❌ Not taking confirmation printout after submission
BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern 2026
Paper | Subject | Questions | Marks | Duration (PRT) | Duration (TGT/PGT) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Paper 1 | Language - Hindi / Urdu / Bengali | 30 | 30 | 4 Hours | 2.5 Hours |
Paper 2 | GS + CDP (PRT only) / GS only (TGT/PGT) | 40 | 40 | ||
Paper 3 | Subject Specific (as per post applied) | 80 | 80 | ||
Total | 150 | 150 | No Negative Marking | ||
⚠️ Biggest Change in TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern - Paper 1 Level
BPSC ने officially Paper 1 (Language paper) का standard BPSC Civil Services examination के level तक raise किया है। Reason: Previous TRE-recruited teachers में basic Hindi grammar errors पाई गईं। यह सबसे underestimated change है। Most preparation resources still say "just prepare Hindi grammar" - that is no longer sufficient. आपको BPSC Civil Service exam के Hindi paper solve करने होंगे।
Paper-wise Strategy Based on Marks Distribution
Paper | Marks | % of Total | Time (PRT) | Priority Level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Paper 3 - Subject | 80 | 53% | 130 min | 🔴 Highest |
Paper 1 - Language | 30 | 20% | 40 min | 🟠 High (level raised) |
Paper 2 - GS/CDP | 40 | 27% | 55 min | 🟡 Medium-High |
No Negative Marking = Attempt All 150 Questions. Even if unsure, a random guess has 25% chance of being correct. Never leave a question blank. In a 150-question exam, attempting 20 unsure questions randomly earns an expected 5 extra marks - potentially the difference between selection and rejection at the cut-off border.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Preparation Strategy - 90-Day Plan
You have 5–6 months until the exam. Maximum 3 attempts are allowed. This may be your last chance. Here is the proven Teaching Pariksha phase-wise strategy:
📚 Phase 1 - Foundation (Month 1–2)
Hindi (Paper 1): Daily 1 hour. BPSC Civil Services level. Sandhi, Samas, Alankar, Ras, Chhand - these 5 areas = 70%+ of Paper 1.
GS (Paper 2): NCERT Class 6–10 Science, History, Geography, Polity. Systematic chapter by chapter.
Subject (Paper 3): NCERT 11–12 your subject. Read completely once.
CDP (PRT): Piaget, Vygotsky, Kohlberg - 3 theories in Week 1.
Bihar GK basics - geography, culture, govt schemes.
🧪 Phase 2 - Practice (Month 3–4)
Solve TRE 1.0 + TRE 2.0 PYQ - all papers. Map repeated topics.
Subject-wise mini tests on Teaching Pariksha (alternate days).
Identify weak chapters → revise that week.
Bihar Current Affairs: daily 30 min (Dainik Jagran Bihar edition).
Speed target: 1 min per question. Time yourself.
CDP flashcards - Piaget stages, Gardner intelligences, RTE sections.
🎯 Phase 3 - Final Revision (Month 5–6)
2 full-length mock tests per week (exact exam conditions, exact time).
After every mock: 1-hour deep analysis - why wrong, which chapters.
Short notes (1 page per chapter) for rapid revision.
Bihar Current Affairs - last 6 months comprehensive list.
Last 2 weeks: No new topics. Only revision + weak areas + 1 daily mock.
Exam conditioning: sit for 4 hours (PRT) or 2.5 hours continuously.
5 Mistakes That Eliminate Good Candidates
⚠️ Avoid These - Teaching Pariksha Analysis of Why Candidates Fail
1. Treating Paper 1 as easy - Level is raised to BPSC Civil Services. Average marks on Paper 1 will drop. Students who prepare at this level will have a significant advantage.
2. Skipping CDP - 8–10 free marks in Paper 2 that 60% of PRT candidates leave unprepared. These are the most consistently asked, easiest questions in the entire exam.
3. Not solving PYQ - 40–70% of topics repeat across TRE exams. Without PYQ analysis you're preparing blindly. Solve TRE 1.0 and TRE 2.0 first.
4. Giving mocks without analyzing them - Taking 50 mock tests and scoring 65 each time means nothing if you don't know WHY you scored 65. Analysis is where learning happens.
5. Buying too many books - 3 revisions of 3 books beats 1 reading of 10 books. NCERT + 1 reference + PYQ papers is sufficient for most candidates.
See the complete 90-day preparation guide with daily timetable, and PYQ analysis with most-repeated topics.
BPSC TRE 4.0 Expected Cut Off 2026
Category | TRE 1.0 (approx.) | TRE 2.0 (approx.) | TRE 4.0 Expected | Safe Target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
General Male | 85–95 | 88–98 | 90–105 | 105+ |
General Female | 82–92 | 85–95 | 87–102 | 100+ |
OBC / EBC | 80–90 | 83–93 | 85–100 | 100+ |
SC | 70–82 | 73–85 | 75–90 | 88+ |
ST | 65–78 | 68–80 | 70–85 | 82+ |
EWS | 83–93 | 85–95 | 87–102 | 100+ |
💡 Why TRE 4.0 Cut Off Might Be Lower Than TRE 1.0/2.0
Factor 1 - Paper 1 difficulty raised: Average Paper 1 scores will fall. Overall average marks will be lower, pushing cut off down slightly.
Factor 2 - 46,595 vacancies: More vacancies = more selections = lower cut off compared to smaller vacancy drives.
Counter-factor: Large applicant pool (expected 10–15 lakh+) compensates. Net effect: cut off stays similar to TRE 1.0/2.0 range but with more certainty of selection if you score 100+.
