देश के प्रधानमंत्री पर विवादित/अमर्यादित टिप्पणी करने वाले के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का अलग/विशेष कानून नहीं है। हालांकि, टिप्पणी करने वाले की नियत/मंच/बयान का प्रभाव-प्रकृति जैसी परिस्थितियों के आधार पर कानूनी धाराएं लग सकती हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, प्रधानमंत्री की निजी/राजनीतिक प्रतिष्ठा को ठेस पहुंचाने पर मानहानि और जनसभा/सड़क/चौराहे पर ऐसा करने पर शांति भंग का केस दर्ज हो सकता है।
