भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (BIS) चांदी के आभूषण/कलाकृतियों की हॉलमार्किंग को अनिवार्य बनाने के लिए आवश्यक नियामकीय ढांचे व बुनियादी तैयारियों का अध्ययन कर रहा है। BIS के महानिदेशक संजय गर्ग ने कहा, "चांदी की हॉलमार्किंग सोने की तुलना में अधिक जटिल है...इसे लागू करने की प्रक्रिया का अध्ययन कर रहे हैं...जानबूझकर थोड़ा धीमे चल रहे हैं...कोई गलती न हो।"
